@Tegetthoff: Got a (rough) ETA in mind for the next version?
Somehow I seem to have spent all my time on other things, so not sure whether I should start building a set of changes now (esp. considering that my next weekend will be occupied) or rather wait for the update.

@froglegs: Could you compile a list of provinces, which are misnamed in the way you describe?
Ideally you would use the <list> tag for formatting and write out the province ID (which you can get in-game by using the "showid" command), followed by a delimiter (such as " - ") and a comment regarding the most correct choice.

So, basically:
Code:
"[list]" "[*]" <province ID> [" - "<comment>]
{ "[*]"<province ID> [" - "<comment>] }"[/list]"
in a slightly modified (wedge-braced symbol names to allow whitespaces within) extended Backus-Naur form.

Assuming that there are further instances, which you have not discovered yet, it might be proficient to open a new thread for that and from then on just edit the post, append to the list (and mayhap even remove fixed ones once that happens).

Zsar,

What I've done to your work is reduce all of the targets ( other than Sell, which stays where you put it) by 75% for E/M/R. This gets the targets ballpark with the initial stockpiles and there shouldn't be a lot of nations running prices up. Oil is set up as a mirror of Rare but further reduced by to 67% of Rare. I also fixed a few target errors where the numbers were not proportional.

Zsar,

I am basically waiting for Dec to finish his work referred to above and then push out another Version, together with a couple of gfx from Hagar.

Alright. I am curious about the impact.

We should be prepared to increase the event frequency a bit (by the same factor, to be precise), but mayhap it might even work out without.

Looks better to wait then.

Hi,

I haven't actually tested at these settings. So we'll have to see what happens. But the level of domestic production means that the stockpile targets actually give a much bigger pad than the raw number would indicate. One other really minor shift was shifting all the events to start in February rather than January. Wanted to get the game through it's initial start up before these start firing. Takes at least 2 weeks for all the Convoys to stabilize.

This should fix the Lech-Bregenz issue (I must have lost Bregenz when I lost Braunschweig).

I also went ahead and exchanged Cincinnati for Columbus. I had thought about that before, but was too lazy. LOL

No one else should be providing you with a province_names.csv file. If someone does, let me know so I can merge anything important. Otherwise, the included version supercedes all others.

I should be good for this version, barring someone overwriting the province_names.csv file. Afterwards, I will soon have a list of files that I will need to edit for the Indochina changes. We can discuss those at that time.

Hello there,
First of all, thank you all for your fantastic work. The mod looks gorgeous. I was following it on HOI2 and I had the chance to try it in AOD just now. But I do have some qs:

I have a MAC computer and I'm playing the game via Wine application (It basically lets you open exe files, very simple). So I just install AOD on a PC, copy the game files to my mac via flashdrive and use wine to open game exe and play. I had no problem with AOD before. However CORE doesn't have its own exe file, just a shortcut with a command line, which won't work on wine/mac. So I followed the logical approach and copied all the files in the CORE mod folder into the game folder and replaced duplicate ones (I did all those in PC and THEN moved them into MAC). And then opened the AOD exe and it worked just fine. Well... I can see the vanilla scenarios too but I ignore them just pick CORE scenario and play. It works!

So I started with Communist China and played until 1942. But when I save & reload the game, an error appears in the loading screen.
"Database Mismatch (type = 4712 / id 873616 ) already used!"

I press "ignore" and play on. But I don't know if that affects my gameplay in a way I don't realize.

1) Does it?
2) Should I have deleted all the vanilla event files BEFORE copying CORE folder into the game folder? Would they cause problems? Because CORE event files have different names so they don't replace all the vanilla items, thus might create issues? Or is it just fine?
3) At 1942, USA max IC went over 900! Is that normal? (Meanwhile GER is 500, SOV is 450) I mean... It doesn't sound unrealistic, so I'm ok with it if it's normal. :) But really... Woah!
4) My last and big question is about Communist China. I never liked how they were made in the vanilla game, especially the fact that accomplishing what had really happened in history (communist china taking over the country) is so damn impossible in the game. Like, really really impossible without a human ally or minor cheats (making soviets DOW japan etc).

So I was wondering how it was in CORE... (Well... Is it possible here?)

I started the game (at war with Nat China and Ma Clique as always) and immediately rushed and annexed Ma Clique. Then peace events fired with Nat. I accepted it. Then I waited Shanxi to take care of the mongol military government thingy. When they were gone, I DOWed Shanxi and annexed them. There comes 1937... Japan went to war with us. We had the unified front with Nat China and started fighting. I pushed the japanese north with the Nat help and since I had owned the north shanxi border, new territories became mine. I pushed on and annexed Manchuko. It became NAT territory... well. Ok big guy in the alliance, fine. I pushed into Korea (now advances became Nat territory) and Japanese surrender to China event fired. (please note that I edited this event from the start and removed the requirement for NAT CHI to have Beijing, because I have it.)

Peace was made. Manchuria is NAT land. Korea is NAT puppet.... and I get nothing. PLUS, Japanese kept Dalian port and the line of territory between Manchuria and Shanxi (xilinhot etc). So all my forces were cut off in Manchuria.... :S

Why didn't Japanese give these lands to NAT? (Because I screwed something up in installation? Re. point 1 & 2)

Thanks a lot in advance...
And again, great job on the mod!

My version: AOD 1.08, Core 0.70.5
Final question: which graphic pack I could use on this version?
thanks!

Hi,

I'm not really a good source for the port over issues. But getting that Database issue in 1942 seems really odd. Usually those occur on start up when you've doubled up something while coding. I'd suspect it is a Leader as there shouldn't be any Events in that range. Likely a very minor issue as long as it let you play past. IIRC you don't need to delete anything in the Vanilla folder if you do the copy over. The Vanilla event files should never get called for in the first place as the scenario defines which ones get used.

USA: Yes, this sounds about right. We hold back USA on MP and IC pre war and then give them their real potential once they are mobilized. They do have a lot of IC. But they also send lots of Supplies to ENG and SOV via LL.

CHC: While we have scripted this area some we don't really work this aspect a lot. When I tried CHC in a test game JAP handed me my ass. There are some events that buff up CHC when CHI itsel does historically bad against JAP. But in you case they probably didn't fire. Not quite sure why MAN went over to CHI if you annexed them. Could you please confirm exactly which provinces JAP kept after the peace? I'd not that Teg is the best person to discuss this sort of thing with as he does most of the JAP-CHI scripting.

That's clarifying. Thanks a lot!

But in earlier pages in this thread, somebody mentioned that copying over CORE files into vanilla folders (He did that for multiplayer) messes up with the AI; as the game sometimes confuses them and uses vanilla AI. Is that true? Couse in my CHC game for example, Germany never DOWed Soviets, nor did the Soviets. And even then, USA had easy landings into africa, egypt, greece. I found those strange tbh. Do you think deleting vanilla ai files would help? (I moved them out of AOD folder now and gonna have a trial game)

Note: Database error appeared in my 1942 load games. It doesn't popup in new games. And yes it let's me play when I ignore it and I didn't see any effects.

The provinces that JAPAN didn't give to China after "japanese surrender to china" are:
Dalian (even japanese core wasn't removed), Tangshan, Changde, Erenhot, and Xilinhot. However it did give Taiwan to CHI.
And by keeping Tangshan, Changde, Erenhot, and Xilinhot, JAP blocks the way into Manchuria, completely ruining CHC.

Maybe the problem was me (CHC) occupying them during the war? But even if it is, it shouldn't be I think... CHC must have a chance (even as a tiny one) to grow. :)

Also I might make a suggestion to fix japanese surrender to china event in a way that it fires when JAP loses those territories (Beijing, Nanjing, Korea, Manchuria etc) to either CHC and CHI, not just CHI. And after surrender, it could cave the territories to both parties: Taiwan to CHI, North China+Manchuria to CHC. That would make the game much more enjoyable (even for CHI, more struggle!) and historical (giving CHC a chance to be great).

I mean CHC is definitely playable. Spamming mountain divisions and land doctrines lets you push into manchuria over the course of 2-3 years. At some point in my game, JAP casualties exceeded CHI casualties because I surrounded and destroyed so many of them. But the events are not CHC-friendly, and it messes up your achievements (by not giving manchuria after annex etc.)

Cheers,

Dec:

Your Copenhagen line in province.csv is slightly different from the one Zsar posted here. Can I take your file as the "final" one or should I copy in Zsar´s line?
