I changed the Libyan Division to a 9-bn unit. In 1937, once ITA is not at war, it will be disbanded.
In march 1940, the two later libyan divisions are spawned as 1935 6-bn divisions with 1935 light artillery in Tripoli as the libyan corps (see my latest post in the Fourth Shore topic for details).
That is all.
... I may end up changing the brigades later or not. Currently, I left the cavalry on the original unit as it will be disbanded anyway, and added light artillery to the two later divisions to account for a mix of heavy, anti air and anti tank guns.
Those parts of the divisions were historically much smaller than they should have been on paper, but for now I represented that by spawning them with lower strength than they should have as reconstituents of the original unit's battalions. (all commented in the files, currently on the wrong PC to check)
- It might be a more historically appropriate decision to spawn them without brigades, but I let gameplay top history in this case as drawing the divisions back to the mainland would be required to attach separately built brigades, whereas in truth the existing units would have just been reinforced piecemeal, had the units not been destroyed during Operation Compass.
Mayhap I will add an event later to allow for selection of the unit's state in relation to time and cost, but currently I do not really consider it worth the effort.
If the units prove to be problematic, my first goto solution would probably be to reduce the brigade model to 1930, but as some of the weapons involved (
Breda Model 35 and
Connone da 47/32 Mod. 35) were only introduced in 1935, I considered that the more appropriate year. The older gun type used,
Böhler 8 cm Vz. 1905 is a 1907 model however, and went out of production in 1918, so I can see compromise potential in that regard.
