About 1/4 of total 0.42 downloads are for HoI2.

If we cut HoI2 support, then I would like to cut DD too and make a single ARM moddir version. But in general, I don't think that this will ease things that much as 99% of the files are version-independent.

Oh alllllright... I'll work with DD seeing as I despise ARM....

But keeping track of the 1% is 50% of the work we have to do.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; the day when you switch from HOI2 to DD is the day I leave this mod.

And I certainly don't spend 50% of my time with the mod sorting out the differences between DD and HOI2. The only problem I have ever run into was a DD misc.txt, which was easily solved once the problem was located.

Very little loyalty. Why don't you just go out and buy or download DD?

Money issue. Not to mention the fact that things will probably go wrong when I try to download DD.

£17 for HoI, HoI2, DD, ARM and a massive map! Bargain!

Does the map have province ID's on it too? :confused:

No Time Limit Problem

A while back some people were reporting difficulty in getting the No Time Limit patch to run. If that issue hasn't already been resolved, I think I've stumbled on the origin of the problem. I think it's due to a misreading of the patch installation instructions.

At point 3. in the instructions the user is directed to: Check that the \1914 folder is displayed, and select the file HoI2.exe. Click Open then Start. If you instead select the no_time_limit_11.exe and click Open and Start you get exactly the the error message described in the earlier posts.

I hesitate to describe how this became apparent to me.

am i the only one who has problem downloading those files? i never got past the first basic file. i takes forever to start the donwload and than it freezes after downloading 2,4 mb. is it my problem or is something wrong with the server?

The link for the 1914 DD in one version is broken.
i don't mean the one in one version. i mean the first and most essential file of those three. the exactly first link which is common for DD as well as HOI2

Well I dusted off my DD copy for 1914 purposes.

As many others, I also encountered 'escort.txt error'. If you have problems with escort.txt file (it is not in rars), solution is simple:

1. Create escort.txt file in \db\units\divisions
2. Put string in it:

# ESCORT FIGHTER
model = { # Basic Escort Fighter 1916 - 0
cost = 15
buildtime = 150
defaultorganisation = 30
ect.
}

3. Save file
4. Run game

It worked for me. Everything OK, at least for now.

Sorry guys. Interesting Mod/project honestly, but it has loooong way to go, to reach M34, TRP or WiF level.

All the best of luck.

Priority is ARM compatibility and installator. Without that many people wont install it/try it - in particular peps without modding skills or computer knowledge. You have enough examples above me with various problems.

Now when I finally forced it to run I will post any futher errors and suggestions or tech teams [hehe new possibilities with 1897 -> :D ]. (I running it on Vista HP 32b if anybody asks)

Cheers! :)

will the next version of this be arma 1.2 compatable?

There is an ARMA 1.2 compatibility pack in a separate thread. Please download it. It will allow you to run the game with ARM and give you hardcoded ARM features, but will not give you naval brigades.
