After a few years, an archeology chain and situation will appear about your nation's past. After some investigation, you'll be granted a modifier to help your weakened empire rediscover its history, and maybe your ancient foes.
My idea is basically something similar to the knights of the toxic god origin mechanics-wise with a weaker start but also with a similar theme to remnants.
