I have a few ideas on making the game more interesting.
1)Missions usually are just a quick way to get a little bonus. But I have an idea that could make them more interesting.
Instead of just one goal, for example, conquering a province, it could have a goal of first claiming the province, and then conquering the province, each with their own benefits. That way it's not just, get a mission, finish it, choose another mission, etc. etc.
This isn't a big change, but I feel it's a way to make the missions more interesting.
2) This is a bigger change, but I think that the top world border should be expanded up, to make it possible to land troops in the Kara Sea to invade Siberia without going all the way through Russia. This northern area should have an "Arctic Sea" penalty that makes ship attrition much higher (with all those glaciers).
3) Pacific Natives. There were many Pacific natives. The Aboriginals, the Yap, the Polynesians, and the New Zealand natives. Adding a few inland provinces in Australia could allow the Aboriginals to migrate around the coast, and New Zealand natives could migrate around New Zealand.
But, the Polynesian natives could have the ability to build ships and colonize nearby islands, or migrate to those islands.
4) Change Basetax mapmode to Development. This is a small change I've seen many other people talk about, so I decided to include it in my list.
EDIT: More ideas!
5) British provinces & cultures! Northern Scotland could be its own culture group with the Irish, and that would be Gaelic. Welsh could go either way. Cornwall could be split into Cornwall and Devon, and they could be Cornish culture, and be on either British or Gaelic.
Anglo-Saxon could be a culture that could appear if say, a German nation conquers England, and that would be Germanic, and could form an Anglo-Saxon union.
Back to Britain, new provinces could be in the Highlands, maybe Glasgow, and in Ireland, England could have a less dominant position by giving the Irish each one or two more provinces.
6) Balkan changes + new countries (revolters). My idea is that there could be cores for Neopatria in Thessaly, Makedonia in Macedonia (and possibly Skopje). Albania should be a bit smaller, and an area of them would go to the Venetians. And, of course, a tag in Euboea. They should all be able to form either Byzantium or Greece.
