what happens if you become a double Duke - in other words f.e. Duke of Flanders and Duke of Artois?

I'm duke of Flanders and it seems that my oldest son - vassal count of Artois - has proclaimed himself Duke of Artois, as he is the heir to my throne I don't mind off course but will it be game over because he's not my vassal anymore and is duke?

He will inherit. If he is of dynasty (as a son most likely is, if he's not a Dane ) you will continue as him, Duke of Artois and Flanders. .

...but since the Duke of Artois inherits Flanders he will be Artois first (with the Artois CoA). You can fix that in the save if you really want to though...
