Are you sure you installed correctly? You should first get an event asking you whether to carry out the event.

well I downloaded the zip from the first post, unzipped it, saw there was two more zip files (CCIP0.3 and "Idel-Ural," btw what is that?), unzipped the CCIP0.3 file directly into my doomsday folder...some other pre-existing files were overwritten; I presume everything is in order...

I just got CCIPv3 and started a game as comchi.

When the japs wanted to teach me a lesson, i waited for the "CCP responds to united front" event that used to happen. To my surprise, i was already in the united front (against my will! well, i would have liked to have a say, even if i wanted to join anyways). Then "movement revitalized" happened and gave me empty divisions (you might say all i got was leaderless and unitless armies).

Is this all normal?
No more CCP response, problematic unit giving...

Oh and, on a side note, i did earn the southern provinces of shanxi through a peace event (4 or 5 of them). Maybe that does something in the events. I also attacked from said provinces into a occupied japanese province after they had taken it from natchi. To my surprise, it turned into natchi and no occupied comchi (this is more gameplay issue than mod problems id think)
So how am i supposed to make the japs surrender as comchi if i cant get a stream of provinces up to manchukuo?

After China is defeated ComChi will take control of Manchukuo and most provinces to the west of ComChi base via event.

Wong Fei Hong: I've not been able to figure out the problem with your cloned generals. It seems to be an isolated incident, since nobody else has had that problem.

MikeZ: I've not included your MON and TIB events in this release. Maybe the next one, as I need some time to do some historical digging.

Various: Annex bug when either CHC or CHI is destroyed will be fixed in the next update. ;)

DDCCIP v0.3b

OK, so I went back through this entire thread and combed for every bug, feature or nitty-gritty detail that wasn't fixed/added in a patch... Some were quite old requests, sorry about that. :eek:o Fortunately, there weren't that many. Those that I haven't been able to deal with, I stated above... ^^^

This update fixed:
- Yong Li's picture (and name)
- Xi'an Incident timing bug
- CHC naval tech team bug
- CHC "Movement Revitalised" event (and reduced free divisions to 4 from 6)

New stuff in this update:
- CHC skin by Duke_of_BOOM!, located at http://www.erpz.net/CHC_skin.rar.
- A CHI topbar I made for myself, which I thought good to share with you guys... included in the main .zip file as topbar.bmp. Replace gfx/skins/chi/topbar.bmp with this.

BTW:
- There is a DD version of the CHI/C unit gfx + model names pack at http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247323. It has some bugs though, such as escort fighters being way too big and carriers that look like destroyers (and missing the brigades section of the model names file). A marginally fixed version (which only fixed the brigades section) is located at http://www.erpz.net/CCIP_GFX.zip.

No problem... dig, dig, dig :)
About my events - when you created the vanilla HoI2 CCIP I posted an event regarding Mao and his marriage with Jiang Quing, wich (the marriage of course) made quite a fuss among Mao's fellow comrades. Is it possible to add this event to another update of your mod?
(just in case -> I found the information in "Mao Zedong" by Delia Davin, so it's not historical, not fantastic like my improvements for Mongolia).
In case you can't find the event, I'll post it... but tommorow. Now I'm getting sleepy :) - It's near midnight in Poland, you know.

Oh... and if you like I can make AI's for NatChi and ComChi for years 1949 and so on (so after the civil war; OK I know the civil war didn't end in 1949, but by that time ComChi can have a normal production plan)
So It'll be 3 AI's:
- ComChi -> after it is victorious in mainland China.
- NatChi -> After it is victorious
- NatChi -> after it loses the war and gets pushed to Taiwan

I was thinking, when Japan surrenders to NatChi, they lose korea's IC and are reduced to 4 tech teams.
War in the pacific gets kinda boring with japan being so weak after losing to china, so i figured id give them enough extra IC to get their last tech team.

Not sure if its a good idea.
Is there a Japan AI change?
Do they still focus on beating the USA?

If i want to go on small rampages, i dont want to be the central focus of the allies' wrath...

Yep, definitely, Japan AI used to build IC I think, but it was fixed in a Patch, maybe an event in which Japanese industry flees the mainland and Korea and returns to Japan might be a solution.

That seems to be a good idea.

The japanese AI doesn't change after its defeat, and that's actually a good thing because once I puppeted them I can depend on them to occupy and garrison all those little Pacific Islands... :D

This AI file for Japan should help. They won't attack USA anymore (in fact they will be totally harmless), build less garrisons and force IC construction until 1949.
Have fun (the AI still needs more work but it's the best i could do in 5 minutes :D)

I'm playing CCIP ComChi game on DD, and noticed something somewhat strange - I've accepted the United Front event against Japan, and several times throughout the war Guangxi Leage gave me some of their provinces. It's nice, but somewhat unlikely. ;)

Just a quick question.

Is this going to affect my game adversely? Not the saves, I mean the game itself - in that it'll change something not related to China or overwrite something neccesary and I'll end up with a great China but the rest of the world will be one big mess!

I doubt this is the case, but I'm paranoid after so many troubles with this game, forgive me.

No, it doesnt change (or break) anything. It replaces hoi2.txt with another version (united front events etc) IIRC and also adds a few event files.

It makes the chinese/asian theater a little more playable and a lot more fun.

Its actually pretty simple, you DL the file, open it with winzip or winrar and then direct the extraction point to your hoi2 doomsday folder. Nothing too troublesome.

When playing as ComChi, I chose "We don't want peace" in Planning for Xi'an Incident.
Later when Japan invaded, I received the "Join United Front"" or whatever and chose yes.
I made peace with NatChi but I didn't join the alliance.
Now I'm at war with no one?!

Is this suppose to happen?

I've run into an issue...I've refused "United Front" as ComChi and went to war with NatChi while they were at war with Japanese. After a hard fight, I've annexed NatChi...but I think those actions exclude the starting "Civil War" event (#99/100), which means I don't get to unify China.

IF the unification event is the same (Proclaim the PRC), you will only need to own the various warlord capitals and the capital of Manchuko. The CCW is not a pre-req for either CHI or CHC unification events.

OK guys I'm back from a 4th July camping trip. First thread I read was a guy calling me a commie, how ironic. Anyway...

What's your IC? If you've been taking some ground lately, your IC might be a lot more than Guangxi's, so the game engine will give Guangxi-"owned" provinces to you when your troops are on it.

Well, no. You're supposed to be allied to NatChi if you choose to join the United Front. Not only do you join the NatChi, NatChi gets another event telling them to join you... actually, that might be the problem, though it doesn't seem that anyone else had this problem...

Did you get the event "Communist China Victory, We have utterly defeated the Corrupt Nationalists!"? If so, the event should fire as long as none of the warlords exist. It might take a while since the random trigger is set to 30 (but I think we should get rid of it, we all hate waiting  ).

Taking a first look at CCIP, and I must say I'm impressed by the event work that's been done here. This mod looks absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to give it a test drive!

One question, though. Does CCIP usually result in a more historic stalmate in China when JAP, CHI, and CHC are AI-controlled? I'm hoping it does, because I'm tired of seeing Japan beat the Chinese in 4 out of 5 vanilla games.

CCIP is designed for a CHI or CHC player, so I can't say for that.
