well this is stupid but then I suppose it does sort of explain why the crusades in the game are SOO boring and do not resemble anywhere near the 'character' that the crusades of medieval 2 total war have. You'd think if you name a game after the crusades then they would be some sort of center piece.

Even if the game wasn't named after the Crusades, this feature would need more flavor. The crusades were extremely important for the Catholic world and shaped the world as we know it. Right now, the Crusades don't even make much sense and are not as world-changing as they should be (the authority and power of the Pope should depend on them, the mending or widening of the schism between churches should depend on it, new independent states and cultures should be created by them... this all warrants an AoW-sized DLC and it would make the game more dynamic and interesting).

Or rather, it's constrained by their own engine and how characters are handled both alive and dead. Even overclocked 4770k and enough RAM can't handle the game fluently in its current state after a short period of time. Looking forward to seeing how Asia will be crammed into this.

This might be perspective, but I got some i7 and 16gb, and it runs just fine besides the horrible periodic saving. Adding China just for the revolts on the forums would be funny.

They will never stop, regardless of how silly they are and always were. Even in the distant future, when we'll be playing CK4 there will be people complaining that the latest DLC ruined the game forever, because it's not about crusades. It's just in human nature to complain.

I am glad that they are seeking ways to make China work. It's really the next logical step for the game.

China is needed to properly represent the interconnected Eurasia that existed in the Middle Ages- the trade-networks and cultural influence was great. However, the Devs would need to consider two things: being able to make it run much, much faster, and being able to make it feel connected to the rest of the map.

Have all Eurasia and northern Africa, and the game will be complete- each constituent part cannot be properly modelled without all the other constituent parts of a system. Indeed, because of this, East Africa would be nice too, but that's less important.

I just hope that any new game they make will have better and more complex or at least engaging peace mechanics. Map paiting gets boring really fast, it is the main reason I rarely finish a playthrough.

Would be nice to have diplomacy, trade, building be as fun and as engaging as war. Like war to be 1/4 of the game only, not 3/4 of the game.

I'd welcome a China DLC after the game has been brought up to the standard set by EUIV. We need a new map and more depth for the next while. The ToG and CM DLCs should have come only after the base game was expanded. The game is broad but shallow, it needs some serious work before looking at China. By all means, add China then, CK2 would truly be perfect with it, but there are issues that need to be worked out first.

Even if the game wasn't named after the Crusades, this feature would need more flavor. The crusades were extremely important for the Catholic world and shaped the world as we know it. Right now, the Crusades don't even make much sense and are not as world-changing as they should be (the authority and power of the Pope should depend on them, the mending or widening of the schism between churches should depend on it, new independent states and cultures should be created by them... this all warrants an AoW-sized DLC and it would make the game more dynamic and interesting).

If they didn't misfire so often (and there were not so many kingdom level CBs nowadays) they would be gamechanging - ironically part of their problem because they tended to accelerate whichever religion was 'winning'. That they simply change the map color is emblemic of a more fundamental issue with the game, which is that many institutions, like the church (and your court), don't have any actual presence.

About time! We needed some more Doomdark in our games ^^. We all hope that we see the same desire to experiment with new things and new ideas in all future games, just like you guys did with CK2. Honestly, the reason I like PDS games, and especially CK2, is how personal and intimate are the experiences I have in the game. I hope that we all get to have the same experience in Project Augustus too. I believe the setting is not as important as the enjoyment and personalization of the experience of the player that is enjoying the game.

Also if Doomdark is now "Director of gameplay" does this mean CK2 will finally get some more appropriate attention? We would love some more deep features added. EU4 DLCs make CK2 DLCs feel like bread crumbs :'(
