I do appreciate being informed, even if it was indeed bad news.

Yeah. It's good manners. I hate it when you apply for something and then just don't hear anything. It's bloody rude. So yeah, didn't get beta either. Ah well, one less distraction from doing the best I can this last semester at uni.

I would like to make a request... would it be possible for PI to authorize a couple (2 or 3) of the beta testers to talk freely on these forums?

note: "freely" is a loose term (anything more than nothing, is better)

As a long time lurker, I have noticed many times that the forums go stagnent once the beta starts. The active debates/discussions move to the beta forums, since beta testers want to discuss implementation. Beta testers are also fearful of breaking the NDA, so better to not post on these forums. And I'm sure its even harder on the developers who now have twice the number of forums to cover.

Just a thought.

No definately not, just because of the action we would have to take against such a Beta tester in the case of an honest mistake. We do devote a lot of time to these forums. I was posting here at 6:30 this morning. So we'll be doing our best to keep you all in the loop as much as we can.

Dear Paradox,

I am writing to you on behalf of my client MacScarfe, a long time player of your coumputer games.

He selflessly and generously agreed to 'Beta' test your latest Title 'Hearts of Iron 3' but was shocked to recieve an email from your company rejecting his offer.

What is more, the email clearly indicates that you had in fact made several serious errors in handling my clients offer, in so much that you confused which project he was offering to beta test, i.e. ROME.

You can imagine the crippling and possible permament distress this email caused my client. He is currently off work and due to this incident has been advised to take pyschiatric treatment to come to terms with this brutal assault upon his mental well being.

However, as my client has a great deal of respect for your company we, on his behalf, would like to offer a deal before this matter enters the legal system. I.E. Placing out client in the core team of beta testers.

We look forward to hearing from your company with good news in the near future.

IIRC beta testers are only allowed to talk about things that have already been released in a parrot fashion which makes it absolutely useless because they would only be repeating things you have already heard.
