After having spent $300-$500 on Paradox games, I am officially done with this company. I have been trying for 2 months now to get Hearts of Iron III to run on my computer and have had NO luck. I have read the posts in the forums and have done everything they have recommended to no avail. The sad part is I have yet to see a single Paradox employee respond to the issue and offer any assistance. The only people responding are fellow gamers and one even mentioned that Paradox didn't seem to care because they chose not to help us.

So, until the $80 or so that I have spent on Hearts of Iron III, Semper Fi, and For the Motherland (bought them once from Impulse and once from Steam), shows some actual play time on my computer.... Paradox won't get another penny from me. And this saddens me because I was SOOO looking forward to Crusader Kings II. Oh well....

edit: are you sure you actually did ask for help? you haven't started a thread in the hoi3 tech support forum within the last three months so all you might have done is hijacking another one but then you shouldn't be surprised when you don't get help...
you can't expect to get help when you are not asking for it.

Where are these posts? I looked through your history i dont see anything about hoi3

I haven't posted to the forums as often to do so gets you flame attacks because: "You didn't read the forums and look for previous discussions on this topic. Why are you clogging up our precious time by starting ANOTHER thread over an already resolved issue???"

That and then I felt I would just receive unhelpful attacks like:

I am merely saying that I have read the forums for 1-2 months and done all the suggested things and have yet to have any success. My number one complaint was that no Paradox developers ever jumped in with suggestions. I will claim some fault for not having submitted a support claim directly to Paradox (hence no support ticket number), as I was trying to not bother them and rely on the forums to help me.

Well I'm sorry for that experience, but on all of the forums I've visited, I've never seen the dev's more active than on this one.

I have created a help ticket and await a response.

What I am saying in this post is that other people have posted to the forum with my exact same issue and again, trying to avoid the usual attack responses forum posts can receive, I have followed the posts and responses of other posters and tried to do as they did.

See, this is exactly the reason I don't post on forums. Instead of people just saying, "Here is what you need to do...", I am getting: "You haven't done X,Y, or Z??? Geez", or "How do you expect help if you don't do 1,2 or 3?".

I know that the forums are full of idiots and people get tired of reading the same things over and over. If that is the case with my post, then either just do not read it, or respond only if you care to give help. Haughty consternation provides no benefit for the vexxed.

Not the best welcome from the forum, I agree, but I think in general members are petty polite, you probably would have done much better if you had posted this in the HOI tech support forum, but I am glad you have now launched a ticket and hopefully we can get you into action playing the game. I just ask that you be patient as we are now into the holiday season for support, so responses may be delayed as less people on and more requests.
