I read in an earlier post that Australia and New Zealand can be created in 1885. But in 1885 I could only create New Zealand, creating Australia would only give them 3 provinces. When can I create the dominion of Australia? Thanks.

How much of Australia do you own? How many provs are states? I don't know for certain, but this may play a role.

Hmmm, I know almost nothing about this, but since I seem to be the only responder I'll keep at this.

Is it an event that enables you to make Australia a Dominion? If so, reading the event file might help.

What about statehood?

What is unique/in common about the provs that you can create the Dominion for?

I don't believe its an event. I think you have to manually create it. I just found it strange that New Zealand could be created but only a 3 province Australia.

Nope, you should be able to create it normally. Have you been modding revolt.txt?

Oddly enough, VIP changes what provinces Oz gets:
Code:
minimum = { 2826 2833 2834 } # Melbourne, Bendigo & Bairnsdale

I don't see why this is so, I'll have to ask.

Ok, seems like it's a historical thing, you can release the entire Australia in 1901 via event, and in 0.4 there should be a chain for you releasing it early, and the other bits joining later.

From the information Ive read, its pretty safe to say that your Australia won't be able to be released wholly as a dominion until 1901...as historically the 1st of January, 1901 was the date that Western Australia, South Australia (and the Northern Territory of South Australia), Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania joined together to form the nation of Australia, dominion of the Empire of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland.

I hope I havnt overdone it :p

Well.. you made little mistakes, it was called the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland in 1901. And its the formation of the Commonwealth of Australia as a dominion within the British Empire. :).

I guess im being pedantic :p
