Doing something special for Christmas?

Many people speculate that devs would announce the release date of the game by Christmas, and they're exited about it.

Personally i think it's just a big tease, it's not like we can actually play hoi4 by then.

Learning a release date that's months away would only give me frustration rather than joy.

I feel like we should do something special for Christmas, any suggestion / ideas?

In my experience, everytime there's a chance a game's release date can be announced around the holidays, it ends up being after December 26.

I always found it strange how companys didn't aim for November/early December pre-orders since it absolutely increases sales as gifts to people who may not otherwise play or purchase.

Anyway, I doubt we'll hear anything until after Christmas

There isn't a game out there I'd buy over a Paradox game. They underestimate their market
But yeah that just shows my point. Even if there is pre-orders it'll likely be late January once they get a feel for how many problems are coming up in Beta testing :/

Releasing and pre-ordering are two different things tho. Its not like the main chunk of sales are pre orders anyway these days. I think alot of people got heaviely burned by the huge publishers. Thanks to them people even believe that Betas are just oppertunities for them to play the game early, since those publishers completly abuse the term Beta and really ruined the reputation of DLC.

One thing they really shouldnt do is start pre-orders during the winter sale on steam. Stuff that isnt discounted simply is lost in the store behind all those main page discounts. You can even easiely miss new releases on steam during sales since the store page gets so cluttered and messy.

I think they should do a Christmas competition; simple rules - guess who will win World War Wednesday and when. Prize would be an all-expenses-paid trip to the paradox stationery cupboard. My money is on Johan in the spring of '43, because by then he'll have given his cold to every single person in the office and have no one left to play.

Or they juse the magic of christmas and perform a christman mircale and finish the game development. A man can dream.
