Doing a Norse Campaign - and it's all on Youtube, too.

The campaign has already gotten to the seventh part (885-888), and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Here is a summary:

• Started out as Bjorn, Jarl of Sweden (I don't know how to spell/say the Norse version)
• Quickly became the King of Sweden within 10 years
• As this was happening, the Vikings began conquest of Britain, one even destroying the Kingdom of Scotland
• Then declared war on the newly created Denmark (it was a mistake, made a white peace)
• Bjorn dies in 886, and is succeeded by his son, Erikr.
• Erikr then forms an alliance with his uncle, King of Denmark, and joins his Defensive holy war against East Francia.

That's it so far, I'm planning on taking the 2 catholic-controlled Germanic holy sites, with Denmark as my ally, and then reforming the Germanic faith.

I'm mainly posting here to see if there are any flaws with my plan (see above).

For the holy sites, if I were you I might use my once-a-ruler subjugation CB to get the holy site in either Denmark or Norway (I'd choose Sjaelland without knowing your situation, but either work) and then single county conquest Zealand. Braunschweig (sp?) is not coastal so will probably require multiple wars to reach. Plus, I like to wait until I have reformed the faith before taking on the Karlings.

I don't believe you see my position here - Danmark/Denmark's already been formed, and they are also allied with Northumbria and Jorvik (who won the invasion against Northumbria).

I basically have NO CHOICE but to ally with Denmark and take on the Karlings.

Good luck with that. The only time I've been successful in a similar situation was by using a prepared invasion against my chosen Karling. If that's your only option, make sure you have the piety requirement, 50% MA, and 2 holy sites so you can reform before they take it back.

Good luck with that. The only time I've been successful in a similar situation was by using a prepared invasion against my chosen Karling. If that's your only option, make sure you have the piety requirement, 50% MA, and 2 holy sites so you can reform before they take it back.

Again, you still don't understand my situation - I only have control over 1 holy site, and my ally is in control of the 2 others.

I reformed circa 800. I hold Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, and I've just married a Middle Francian princess--their idea. It's going well so far. I lucked out and subjugated Denmark without issue. I'm now just a couple of holding upgrades away from becoming feudal. If anyone is interested, here's a link to the playlist.
