Keeping an eye on Pibe won't do any good, the only thing that'll save Crusader at this point is allying with Duma (or at least that's how things look).

I see in the stats that my trade incomes are about a third of France and Spains? how can that be? I get the max merchants per year I have high trade effeciency and 5 monopolies so how can my incomes be lagging so far behind???

I don't think France wants to part with its nice Spanish vassal though. You and Brandenburg should go make an alliance. That'd create a nice balance.

Though of course, I think it's absolutely vital that France be either weak or Reformed. It would never have worked if I'd been Catholic. Without the monetary advantage, Spain would've been dismembered.

You should look for cots that have an open space instead of always sending 3 merchants to clear your own opening. It makes your merchant placement a bit more efficient. Since I've been doing that and HG's probably been doing that, with us both also having 12 merchants per year, we've had a bit of an edge on you

Personally, it occurs to me I would have a bigger trade income if Ganges and Johor weren't TI for me.
HG, I wouldn't have tried it had I done better economically at the beginning, but my slow progress forced me to take this route. But yeah it really has paid off well having only fought one war with France after my 1490s debacle. Not that I haven't paid thousands fighting the OE anyway .
