Anybody know for 100% if westernising converts your vassals into protecorates. I need a confident answer because it could make or break my Jihad attempt mid game. Thanks

No. As Assam, I westernized and kept Jaisalmer, Delhi, and Marwar as vassals.

That is good to know. It would make me pause if I thought I would lose key vassals when I Westernize.
