Yes it does, or so I've noticed personally. Others have also noticed better play without it.

- I know the music gets irritating after a while and maybe thus it causes people to play "worse with it" . Setting it to 0 in game has no effect as the music is still being played - you just cant hear it! Disable it in the config setting so it does not take up any mem...

Actually music makes for better gameplay in my opinion...
After all, It's much nicer sending my mighty Soviet armies ravaging through Berlin when they are accompanied by Shostakovich...

Oh I agree it makes for more enjoyable play, but ot more stable MP games.
I usually just listen to some good classical on cd player, best of both worlds.
