Hey all-

I was just wondering if there's a mod which edits only the game's POPs to be historically accurate, or if, say, you could download the VIP POP files and population modification events as a standalone.

I haven't seen it around, but I can't imagine that no one has thought of this before. The fact that there are no Jews in Poland or Russia, that the African-Americans are always assimilated and there are none in Brazil...

Thanks. :D

EDIT: As I sit here, guessing there probably isn't... The new culture I'm attempting to create isn't working.

I made it _CULTURE_EXTRA_26_, so it would be short range. I called it afro-american, like this:
_CULTURE_EXTRA_26_;Afro-American;Paramétrable;Benutzerdefiniert;Def por usuario;Definito dall'utente;;;;Benutzerdefiniert;;x

I then tried placing it in the GC folder for African Minor POPs in Maryland, like so:
587;CULTURE_EXTRA_26;Protestant;slaves;;;;13

I now open the game, and they still show up as African Minor. Any ideas as to why?

There are indeed many files in the POPs forum.

You can also download the VIP mod and extract the POP files and use them for yourself.

That place is a ghost town. A gold mine, I think, but a ghost town.

Anyone at all know what I'm doing wrong with my POP files? Now that I've begun messing with them, some of them are SO WEIRD.

For example: I tried to consolidate all of the Dalmatian populations into a single file and now it says I have no POPs there, despite the fact that it is apparently reading the file.
There's a file that makes it seem as though Egypt has Clerks and Craftsmen, which it doesn't.... And what's with all of the laborers? Don't you only need farmers?
And my Afro-Americans still aren't working.

Thanks...
