Hello,

I had started a new game after 1.9 patch with castille and watching something crazy. I had sent my diplos to aragon (no rival) and burgund to improve relationship for forming alliances. But after being on relation of +80 and +90 at them they wont do a royal mariage or form a alliance. Does castille smell after the patch? Did they have changed something?

Regards

At burgund they give me a malus for far borders and defense behavior (?) -75 (I get +50) and at aragon -100 for being hostile against me.
Why would you expect Aragon to ally or marry you if they're hostile? Burgundy is quite far away, so you pretty much need them to be friendly first, which they will usually be soon after you improve relations to 100 with them/rival France.

In my opinion the best way to deal with Aragon as Castile is to simply leave them alone until 1500 (after this time the Iberian wedding can't fire). If the PU doesn't fire then conquer them, prior to that there is little point in doing anything with them. You don't want to declare on them prior to 1500 as they will lose their PU with Naples.

As above, for Burgundy you need to rival France and possibly England too to get them to like you enough for an alliance.

A good opener for Castile is to day 0 rival England and France, improve relations with Burgundy and Austria. When relations maxed royal marry both, then ally both (be sure to send the requests on the same day as they will likely be rivals). Fab a claim on Poiteu and declare war on France, laugh as they get utterly decimated. Take Poiteu for yourself and break all French vassals free, France is now no longer a threat.

I think it will be very strange here. I started a new game. Allied with portugal, aragon and borgund. +50 with austria.
I claimed poiteu, aragon, portugal and burgund join my war.

Then there was a event that I have a pu with navarra. In the same moment burgund started a succession war on me. I placed my units in the southliest two french provinces and they send a hammer of 37 units against them crushing them into peaces ...

Greetings

When you do this dont sit in your territory and wait for France to come to you and dont attack French armies. Instead take you army and head to Burgundy, dodge the French and shadow Burgundies army. When France attacks one of you, you will have enough mem combined to win, after that its easy.
