For best results, you should install the current VIP over a newly patched vanilla Vicky. Due to file overwrites.

I did this:

Install Victoria.
Apply patch 1.03.
Apply patch update 1.03c.
Apply VIP 0.3.
Apply VIP update 0.3b.

So far I've run a game as France all the way to 1880 with no problems. All events appear to work, and I've not had a single CTD.

Thanks. I started playing today and unfortunetly was reminded that certain events don't work right in vanilla Vicky. I was playing as the US and saw the problem of Prussia accepting the crown of Germany from Liberal Revolution. Which creates a North German Superpower that is a vassel to a newly formed Germany.

The unification events are well known to have problems. You should be able to download individual mods for them, if you don't want to install VIP.
