Does Sweden *always* blob all over Scandinavia?

I think the only game I've played where Sweden didn't blob all over Norway, Denmark and sometimes Russia, was the one where I was Denmark keeping them at bay. Is this (somewhat unhistorical) scenario something that is common, or am I just lucky? Does this typically happen in your games too?

Historically, Sweden never much cared about taking Norway because the real money was in the baltic coast cities and the baltic trade (Norway was dirt poor for the most part), and couldn't take Denmark because the danes had a strong navy. Maybe there's a way to recreate these incentives?

Right now the problem isn't really development or manpower as Denmark and Sweden are 'almost' equal. The real problem is that the Danish AI doesn't understand to prioritize galleys over its practically useless land army.

Honestly at the stage the AI is in right now, I'd almost prefer if the islands in the Öresund had all the straits removed and required transports to ferry to and from... would at least ensure nobody can fully conquer Denmark without total naval superiority!

Denmark's navy is way too weak to hold the Swedes back without the south-Scandinavian coast. AI needs to know when to prioritize it's navy over it's army and AI Denmark is not doing that.

It seems like Sweden, Poland and the Ottomans are the only powers that consistently do anything now in EU4. Even France implodes a lot as of 1.12.

Sweden had the better army, but Denmark had the better Navy, so they couldn't get across to Denmark, despite their ambitions. It was just easier to take lands in Germany and the Baltic.

Sweden has been like that for a long time.

That said, in my current (only game) Sweden was beaten hard by Denmark and then it and Norway got divided between Sapmi and Denmark. And that was even though I was fighting Denmark myself and had already taken part of their territory. It was a very weird Scandinavia....

Sweden has blobbed in my current game, but not by much, and mainly because I have given them help in a few wars where they have stalled. Suspect they would never have escaped the PU without it.

And the fact that the AI sucks as warring strategicly with a navy, which hits Denmark and England specially hard (since they IRL based their strength on that)

I miss the idea from pre-release where armies would be able to march over the Baltic straits in Winter. Why did that disappear? Was it ever mentioned again?
Also, in my PLC game where I didn't touch Sweden except helping them to take a couple Russian provinces, they formed Scandinavia and blobbed everywhere. In my Hansa game they just demolished Denmark and Norway (though I helped get rid of the Danish navy)
They also seem to rebel very quickly.

Sweden shouldn't really start with more development than Denmark.

Sweeden became an OPM in my playthrough. Denmark, Norway and Novgorod ate them all.
Who I find really strong in 1.12 is Poland/Lithuania and Bohemia.

Austria seems nerfed.
Ottomans are doing Ottomans stuff. Didnt change much.
France is kinda nerfed. Dont know if thats good or bad.

In my current England game, Norway is devouring Sweden. I would say 1/10 times the Union holds, 2/10 times Norway and Denmark eat them, and 1/10 times Novgorod or someone else dominates Scandinavia. 6/10 times, Sweden becomes the Great Power it really should be. I see no problem here.

Sweden is actually underpowered, but so is Denmark and Norway.

Honestly the problem is that Sweden can not perform it's historical tasks, but it can beat on people that it didn't historically. Commonwealth is on a completely different realm of power than them, and attacking the HRE would lead them to certain disaster.

In the 2 games I've played so far, Sweden has blobbed and formed Scandinavia. I wouldn't say "Always" just yet, though. I'm going to try Ming and Pope games next.
