Does Southern Expansion Still Work?

In my latest Japan game, I took the Southern Expansion National Focus, which still gives war goals on the UK and the Netherlands even though Malaya and the Dutch East Indies are now distinct countries.

This meant that I could not declare war on either the UK, the Netherlands, British Malaya or the Dutch East Indies, and got no apparent discount for justifying on British Malaya or the Dutch East Indies. I also did not get a notification for a war goal that I could pursue, as is usually the case.

For reference, by taking the 'Strike the USA' focus, I immediately received that notification and could declare war on the USA without having to justify.

I have the 1.33 patch but not Together for Victory.

If you click on the icon at the top of the screen that shows you have diplomatic options you can DoW on them from there. Click the icon - it brings up British Malaya screen and this time there is the option to DoW. The DoW option is not available if you click on the country and bring up diplomacy. It's also pretty cheap to just justify on them costs 25 points and 125 days. Once you get in the war with one, all join in.

That NF does seem to be mostly broken at the moment. Its main purpose now looks to be to get to the strike against the USA which at least bears a 100 day bonus and likely also brings all the Allies into the war. In my current MP game, playing as Japan, I got lucky in that UK annexed Malaya by lowering their autonomy. That puts that justification back on the table if I want to go that way instead of striking the USA first.

Alright, thanks guys. Hope this gets fixed soon, it seems like it can't be very difficult to correct - just change the focus to give war goals on the two colonies. Does anyone know if the devs are aware?

It's really strange, because I played couple days ago and used the NF and it did allow me to strike down both UK and Netherlands no problem.

I have considered that it might be the combination of mods I'm using, although the only ones I'm using are Realistic Air Missions and some cosmetic mods, so I doubt it makes a difference. I've also considered that it might be that I don't have Together for Victory.

No problem with the Southern Expansion focus here, it's possible to DoW both ENG and NED immediately after you finish it.
