I'm in the midst of conquering China as the Ottomans. My strategy has been to conquer China's capital and a handful of provinces, accept their peace offer (usually providing 2-8 provinces), and DOW the next day. That way I can eventually conquer the whole of China while keeping my BB zero.
Naturally, violating peace treaties costs -100 prestige and my prestige is now -6000. But I've noticed that my people are either dying or migrating elsewhere. I'm losing around 3000 people per day. My taxes are zero, and I've experimented with dropping my tariffs to minimum and installing max social reforms, but it had little effect.
Many of my POPs are unable to meet their everyday needs, although their life needs are 100%. Since I am non-industrialised with only a handful of factories, I assume my POPs buy their everyday needs from the world market. But because my prestige is so low, does that mean my POPs are the last in line when buying stuff off the world market?
