I've been playing as an unmarried Queen who has had 5 children with 4 different men (including the bishop), but despite giving birth to sons and daughters whose royal parentage seems obvious, I do not have any valid dynastic heirs (my only brother is a chaste gay leper, and I'm not keen on matrilineally-marrying some commoner or 13-year-old second son).

All of their fathers have acknowledged their children, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. If I die now, it's game over.

-Has the behavior of bastardy been altered by the CKPlus mod, or am I dealing with a vanilla issue?
-How would I go about making my children into legitimate heirs? I can give them land, but I'm not sure how that would help.

Good to know. It might be a bit overpowered if you could just shop around for sperm and legitimize as you pleased with no consequences.

However, I seem to have dodged a bullet:
My lover didn't "acknowledge" my next child...but he declared him to be Trueborn!!!
...Didn't know that was a thing that landless commoners could do, but my dynasty is saved just the same. I have a legitimized bastard as my heir now. (I forgot to verify his Basque culture before selecting his education focus though, and so the next king of Navarre will be Castillian.)

Interestingly, birthing 7 children without a wedding ring seems to have had approximately zero effect on my Piety. This despite repeatedly seducing the man my daughter is betrothed to. Her stepson will be her half-brother! ;)

Out of 7 children, 5 are of my house, and 1 can inherit my crown. I will see how high I can push my score, but I'm 38 now and only managing a baby every 2-3 years. :( Biological clock is ticking!

Is abdication a CK+ feature? I don't remember it from vanilla, but I haven't played in a while.

I invited to court and then matri-married a trusting 66 year-old while 8 months pregnant and produced a son who is heir to the throne of the neighboring kingdom, but yet still of house Jimena!

With a little bit of strategic murder, I may be able to have one son inherit both kingdoms!

...Still no loss in piety.

...repeatedly seducing the man my daughter is betrothed to. Her stepson will be her half-brother! ;)
She ended up committing suicide at age 22 after 5 years of marriage. :(

But she wasn't legitimized and her marriage served only to keep an alliance to enable my Reconquista. She had 2 children with the King of Leon, but they were both daughters. My 3rd son is still first in line to the throne of Leon. I think female rulers seducing young kings is a viable strategy, so long as you have a husband to pretend with.

My eldest son, not legitimized, I gave him the Duchy of Valencia and set him up as head of a mercantile republic. This may be a mistake, since he formed his own noble house, so house Jimena won't be able to leech prestige off of his family.

I should have given it to my 2nd son, the legitimized Castillian so that he'd be out of the line of succession and there would be a simple path for Orduño (3rd son) to inherit both Leon and Navarre. But I suppose it's a simple matter of abdication. Maybe. It would seem odd for a young prince who just gained a Kingdom to give it all up so that his little brother could have 2 kingdoms.

But in any case I'm counting my chickens before they've hatched. The King of Leon is at present still alive. This displeases me.
