I want to buy Field Marshall edition, but if it hasn't got all DLCs, I will not. Does it has all DLCs?

You get the first two expansions + its related content packs, and no, nobody knows what this DLC will contain. You have to buy every expansion after these first two in the normal way if you want it.

HOI 3 only had 3 expansions (TFH, FTML, SF,) so it could end up being most of the dlc

Expansions are not the same as DLCs. Though the two seem to often be used interchangeably by many people which is confusing.

Expansions cover major new features or changes to existing features, they often cost more than half the amount of the base game.

DLC's (downloadable content) could include cosmetic changes only (artwork, 3D models) or extra events, focus trees, even extra countries. Without changing the executable program, and therefore without changing any of the game's features. DLC's are usually alot cheaper than expansion packs.

Like mods, DLCs can be toggled off/on through the loader. Expansion packs can't.

In MP if the host has a DLC enabled then all other players automatically get a temporary copy of that in the game they are playing. That is not the case with an expansion pack, everyone in an MP game must have the same version of the program already installed on their PC.

Two expansions is worth alot more money than two DLCs. But you might be waiting for a couple of years to get both expansions.

You get the first 2 expansions with the included expansion pass and its related content. You wont get free expansions for the next 5 years or so how long paradox decides to support HoI IV. The developers want to get paid for their work aswell you know. ;)

DLC is not EXPANSION... try to be precise

DLC = cosmetic content (like Heavy Cruisers DLC pack, or music & Figurines packs for HoI3)
EXPANSION = major changes to the game, like FTM or TFH to HoI3

Yes but if it is a DLC pass it would be the most worthless thing in history with two uses(Considering their would be DLC #1...Expansion...DLC #2 that comes with the expansion that is cosmetic, music and stuff like that then the pass is done)

Please forgive me if I misread your post. It is my understanding, and I could be wrong, that it will be something like: expansion one plus content pack(s) and expansion two plus content pack(s).

Edit: Honestly, I doubt Paradox Interactive would charge that much for an expansion pass if it's just for two eight dollar or so content packs. Could you imagine if that were the case? The forum has practically imploded over a blacked-out portrait of Hitler and a free sign-up DLC.

It is an Expansion pass not a DLC pass I thought...

Yo uare right, it's an "expansion pass"

I do believe we will get the content packs released alongside the major expansions as well.

Then you would be wrong... because DLC will be sold separatly. Take a look at what they have done for EU4 :

- expansions (adding content & feature) do not include DLC
- DLC are sold individually, they consist of pictures, music, figurines, etc.

It does say 'Includes the first 2 expansion and it’s related content, to an estimated value of $49.99.' Emphases on the 'related content' part. Europa Unversalis IV's most expensive expansions are about $20. I don't think Hearts of Iron IV will kick that up to $25 a pop. Assuming each expansion is $15 or $20, there's still a gap between that price and the $50 mark. One could assume that that difference will be met with content packs, even without the quote I've posted.

A possibility, as you have a good point on the gap between 15-20 and 25
