Americans paid less in taxes than the British mainlanders. Actually King George III wasn't really a tyrant, that is just propaganda.

True (re: propaganda). It was easier to get people to direct ire at one person (King George) than Parliament; Parliament definitely caused much of the consternation, though even that’s just an over-emphasized part of the historical reality. British reps in the colonies, limitations on where colonies could sell/buy materials, etc.

Biggest d*ck move by English Parliament: Ben Franklin testifies to Parliament about Stamp Act; Parliament repeals Stamp Act; same day passes Declaratory Act (which gives Parliament legislative power over the colonies). :D

I try to form nations. I usually play until I get some stupid, unbeatable coalition war against me and learn from it, then start again. I’ll re-start same nations multiple times until I’ve learned something about their situation, interests, & missions.

I’m not a big fan of blobbing whereas in Civilization, for example, I find blobbing really fun.

I love being a underdog, so I tend to restrict myself to regions, and certain idea groups to be somewhat historical. I did a Papal game and never expanded outside of Italy.. Ottomans ended up taking all of Hungary/ and land around the Black Sea with a army of about 370k, and France PU'd/Annexed Spain and had a army of about 280k. Meanwhile my Papal army was only 50k strong.. and this was near 1700. I was most definitely not a strong nation. I like a more relaxed/underdog approach.

I would say unless I'm playing as France, Poland, Ottomans, or Russia i never end up being #1
