Does ECM protection apply to missile attacks against buildings?

I just had the above thought and never really considered it before. For a Defend Base mission, I've typically relied on hitting the attackers before they can get to the base and engaging them that way. As an additional line of defense, I'm wondering if an ECM equipped mech would protect the buildings against missile fire.

Does anyone know if that actually works? I'm not sure how to test it since you'd need to control both sides of the fight.

Good to know, thanks.

I might test this out to make sure if I can figure out how. Makes ECM a little less valuable to me. As it is, I’m not seeing it as a necessary thing to always have.

I wasn't specifically testing it out, but I am about 99.9% sure that I had an ECM mech covering some buildings I was defending and it DID NOT protect them. And this was before they updated how the AI dealt with ECM.
