Does DAIM affect Barbarossa?

Playing SU '36 on VH with AI aggressiveness set at normal. Much to my surprise, Germany declares war on me April 10, 1940. Now I knew not to expect a German invasion as late as Jun '40, but for crying out loud, April? Was this a fluke or WAD?
