Does culture spread across small channels?

I know that culture can only spread from provinces that are touching, but if armies can march across the channel does that count as a connected province allowing culture to spread across?

Example: Ireland is an island and thus immune to most culture changes, but is an Isle or two between Ireland and Scotland that has Norwegian culture. Since armies can simply walk across the channel that separates them I am wondering if culture can spread across it.

Culture can spread through straits with connect land bridges. So Ulster in Ireland can get culture from Galloway and Argyll.

Also with 1.07 there was a bug fixed which means culture can spread to conquered holdings which do not border your current culture. These provinces also must be a capital of a count, duke or you the king to have the event trigger.

So if you the king of Ireland conquered the duchy of Navarra, you can spread your culture there by placing 3 irish counts in the de jure duchy of Navarra.

Not true. Only the county holder and their top_liege(highest within realm emperor/king/duke) needs to be of new culture for the event to trigger.
