I used to switch to Admin Monarchy, but the new tax bonuses seem to make Iqta far superior to any of the normal monarchy types.
The main drawback of Constitutional Monarchy is the lower maximum absolutism. Dealing with Parliament is a little more annoying than dealing with the Noble estate too.
Absolute monarchy is definitely superior to Iqta and most government forms, switching to that is pretty legit.
by the way there was achivement for having absolute monarchy as commonwealth... how is it possible to claim now? do you need to revert patch or someting?Parliament has some good stuff and before absolutism it was at least worth considering if you wanted an extra missionary or something. Now, however, the cost is too large. Of the generic monarchies the default despotic monarchy is your best option. The +absolutism gives a little padding and -1 unrest and -10% unjustified demands are both useful (the -1 unrest consistently so). The unjustified demands stack so a nation going influence + despotic monarchy + having an NI for it will remove most of the "humanist DIP tax" on expansion.
Doesn't exist after absolutism mechanic was introduced. You can get the 5% discipline as any government that can get to 100 absolutism, however.

Totally forgot. I guess enlightened despotism is one of the tops now. Of course it's only late game, so I guess then the Muslim governments are quite better.Parliament has some good stuff and before absolutism it was at least worth considering if you wanted an extra missionary or something. Arabia does not change your government form. Whatever you have going in is what you're going to have in the immediate future.Ok, thanks for the responses! I'm thinking of forming Arabia, which I understand switches to a Despotic Monarachy (and therefore removes the ability to be Iqta), and giving a Constitutional Monarchy a go. Has anyone played as one before? Are they any good?
A typical CaC will have 2 maybe 3 rebel stacks. If you go through that decade of rebellions without succumbing to their demands
Interesting. In my last CaC I've encountered multiple "Leagues of [city name]" and something like "Unruly nobles of [province name]". None of these were dangerous, but eliminating them instantaneously didn't prevent more to come in the future. Nothing very dangerous, but kept me in peace for a decade. I have chosen the "send negotiators to tribunal" a few times, is that the reason?A typical CaC will have 2 maybe 3 rebel stacks.
You are doing it wrong.
