I may be wrong, but I think at this stage people outside of the HoI4 dev team and the beta testers wouldn't have access to that kind of minutia right now, and even if we did a lot of that kind of stuff may be subject to change even now. From what I've seen in the last couple WWW's Daniel had a bunch of ships in production and I believe they were Hindenburg class Battlecruisers, and at full factory production they were producing 1.01 / year IIRC. I know that's not much to go off but at this stage it's probably one of the few things we do have to go off.

Doesn't seem like much of any time is spent in the stream on the Naval side, I see things building in Que for Daniel but haven't seen him use anything but the old Type II U-boats which I cannot believe haven't been just eradicated by the RN and USN. As stated previously I'd like to see a USA vs JAP WWW match up whenever this one finishes with the underdog played by Daniel so hopefully we can see more of the naval aspects of the game.

Based on other ships, I would suggest assuming a 10% increase in cost per level.
11k for level 1
12.1k for level 2

Don't forget to add in the cost of airplanes for the Carrier. I recommend using 26 for Carrier Fighters and 32 for Carrier NAV.

I do not have a 100% confidence on the variant cost. But I don't recall seeing a cost increase due to variants. I think this "cost" is addressed by the reliability decreasing.

I think modern units also cost more resources (There is technologies that increase resources production which may counter this).

However there is pretty much no reason to build low tech units if you can build high tech onces and there is no reason that you should not have researched high tech units.

Not really, unless you have JETS.
Eg: the end of 1941 one Bf 109F-4 were delivered for nearly 56000RM, and absorbed about 7000 man-hours and in end of 1944 one Fw 190A-8; A-9 or D-9 were delivered for 56600RM.
So, the figures for the 1944 FW190- latest version were nearly equal to the 1941 Bf109 (mid war version).
So, not really.

Again, PzIV cost about 100000 RM throughout the war though the time for production fell during the war.

We are talking about the game not about reality and late version of Pz IV and Bf 109 are probably better represented by 1940 or 1944 tech level variants.

I'd want the early carriers to be considerably cheaper than the later models. I'd like there to be a reason for the USA to fill the ocean with CV I's (CVE's) even though it could be building CV IV's

The point with technology is to make stuff better and better, the reason why you would build CV I would be because that they are your state of the art carriers. You are basically asking that there should be a reason to build pre dreadnoughts in the 30s.

I don't remember saying anything about battleships. I said carriers. A slow poorly armed carrier that does not carry many airplanes can be very useful late in the war so long as it is cheap to produce. The USA built 122 of them during the war. That is nothing to sneeze at and is not the same as trying to build 122 dreadnaughts.

Not even the devs know any exact value at this point. It's pointless even debating unit costs and stats when everything is still subject to balancing. During beta there will be plenty of adjustments regularly.

We can however debate the big picture however like the uses of the differen't ship classes.

Watching the www appear like almost balanced, maybe russia and japan are too weak... expecially japan, was defeated so fast.
Im more worried about AI, it appear terribly odd and stupid. The nations under invasion dosent react and keep 95% of army far from the front, in totally useless provinces.
Worse, they send divisions in far countries for help allies.

Thanks for all your replies!:) they helped a lot!!!

Thing is, i know there may occur many changes on the numbers and stats. But it is a nice small hobby for me atm, to make the time pass quicker till the release.:D i plan the production and division templates for Japan atm and almost have the feeling to play the real game. Seems, i still got some fantasy left from my youth:D

Edit: it seems, that variants do not generate extra costs (screenie above)
