Title sais all and what i think about it is you basically spend MP to boost it up in order to stabilize your realm, decrease rebel chance etc. , only to get caught in a series of events, like comet event, which hits your stability. Next to it is if you're Monarchy and your ruler dies. You instantly get stability loss -1, instead of Legitimacy. I mean what's the purpuse of Legitimacy if it won't take any hit, especially if your ruler dies. In my opinion Stability should take hit if you lose war, go baknropt, series of events like comet etc. But tell me your opinion on this matter? What would you change regarding Stability?

IMO I:R stability system is the way to go for EU. Redoing stability was discussed for years on this forum and yet devs decided to stay silent and never comment anything regarding this system. Probably too much effort for too little gain in EU4. Maybe in EU5...

Thing that bothers me is that you invest MP into your stability and if you're Monarchy and your ruler dies you get stability hit by - 1. In couple of play times I even got those bad events that hit your stability at the same time so that's - 2 which can be pain cause you have to reinvest so you can be in the middle. My opinion on this is that stability should take hit from those bad events, if you lose war, go bankrupt etc.

As for ruler death and Monarchies, it should be Legitimacy that takes hit when your ruler pass away.

It's a bit out dated now yeah, it's been the same from release as far as I can tell. I do get the loss of stability during the time frame the King was the leader of the nation and their loss would cause a shake up and could be a weak position - not sure if people are loyal to you and such early on.

Main thing is now there's so many other things that should impact the stability of the nation, high unrest isn't an issue for stability, nor are rebels rampaging through the lands. But at the same time it could be another thing the AI can't handle so gets gimped.

I think that Stability, Prestige and Legitimacy for Monarchies need a reworks. They're simply outdated. Like i said before, in the case of Monarchies, when ruler dies, it is Legitimacy that should take hit and climb up back again. To represent peoples and government support for new ruler. Or Stability, where if you lose war you would get stability hit or religous unrest, civil war etc. Something like that to make sense.
