I'm not sure why but I really like having friendly turrets in the mission, like the defend 3 dropships mission I just did. I think it's the fact they're like a little rng generator for potentially exploitable damage for the next round.

I've done my best to strip armor and knock these guys down etc, then I sit there fingers and toes crossed that the terrible decision making of the turret commander let's him fire into that de armored panther or get the final knockdown blow on that git of a Hunchback that's rocking back on his heels, instead of the pristine, 5 evasion spider it's bound to miss. I also love cheering on the little striker pals that are pootling around bravely taking potshots at these enormous war machines that are busy shredding each other.

I don't know why but I much prefer that they're (dumb) AI controlled than having to control them myself.

I really enjoyed that mission too! I wish they wouldn't of had a count at the top left for how many enemy Mechs were remaining, since it killed some of the suspense.

I love friendly turrets.

They wiped out a Centurion that was wandering towards me and I was happy and then to top things off they were damaging a Hunchback, Dragon and Panther to make things easier.

A bunch of gloryhound killstealers is what they are ;)

Just kidding. I love having them around, makes you feel like you're not alone in the universe :)

Agreed. Games tend to give too much information when I don`t want it unless it would be realistically there. I like guessing a bit on waht`s happening.

I just had a mission with turrets. The turrets actually made very good choices about who to attack: pretty much focus fired.
Yep, just did a story mission with turrets; I was able to knock down enemy mechs fairly consistently with focused fire (lots of missiles, ACs and PPCs as your main weapons will do that for you) and they consistently prioritized finishing off the downed enemies. Turned what should have been a difficult fight against heavier units into an absolute slaughter.

My LRM Centurion loves them. Also the first friendly turret mission was the one I managed to down 4 'mechs by incapacitating the pilots - my record so far.

I was so underpowered in that mission. I struggled to get every enemy's attention early enough. I thought I was done fall until those turrets a Mechs cleaned up for me. From memory I only got one kill the entire mission. And it was something super nasty i droped after throwing EVERYTHING at it while being harassed by lights.

I think this was my .ca route mission so far. Right on my difficulty curve and action everywhere. I was constantly watching my torso angles to protect my back. I came back to the Argo with so little back armour that day.
