Does Alexois have a deathwish or something?

I've been playing games in the 1081 start ever since the new dlc came out and it seems to me that Alexois Kommenos dies quickly whenever I'm not playing him (and sometimes when I am). Every time I check in on him it seems he's died 5 years into his reign, maybe 10 years at the most. War seems to kill him off the most but he dies of illness and assassination too. I wonder; has he just been unlucky in my games or have other players also seen him die young a lot?

He's probably unlucky in your games. I've had plenty of games where he lived to old age, although I did have one where he died in battle. It seems like he dies in war slightly more often because he starts with good military stats so he's probably more likely to command in battle or something.

Historically he did have a fair number of scrapes with death particularly in battle.
