Does 1.09 patch work on top 1.08 on the strategy six pack edition?

Does 1.09 patch work ok on top 1.08 in the strategy six pack edition?

Or am I better at buying a vanilla EU2 copy? Or for that matter is 1.09 really worth it?

It should do, 1.09 is worth it, its essentially same but the improvements to the alliance system are worth it.

It would surprise me if the version contained the six pack is anything else than "vanilla" EU2.

Yes it works I have the Conquest Pack version of EU II, and it's 1.8 as well
