We (I) want a expansion rather than a new game. exteneded timeline to 1920's would be great

The only reason why 20% voted against an EUIII expansion is because they thought it would delay another game; so with this in mind, the aproval rating is actually 100% -instead of 80%.its not eu3 expansion OR another game.

I totally aggree with you that EUIII is, certainly compared to most other titles, by no means "incomplete"; but it sounds like Johan and company have some ideas to make it even better. And I can't say that I think that EUIII is perfect, meaning it couldn't benefit from some new features and changes. That's a pretty broad/assuming statement.
I'm honestly not that fired up for an EU3 expansion regardless of whether or not it would have any impact on the development of a hypothetical other game. As mentioned, I think that EUIII is pretty "complete" as is. It is a solid, whole game. And sure, it took it two expansions to get to that point, but it's there. I don't see any reason to make significant tinkerings to it.
I'm not outright opposed to another expansion (at least, as long as such an expansion didn't get out of hand), but I'm certainly not actively in favor of it.
Cheers.

One would imagine that this would depend on what one's definition of 'is' is...
I think the real purpose of this poll is to get total number of "yes" votes, add 3/4 of "no" votes, multiply it on some secret coefficient of average forum activity and get the estimate number of new expansion sales.Well, a lot of people who voted against the expansion justified it by wanting a CK2/Vicky2 instead, so the real vote is probably even more in favor than the poll shows.![]()

But it's always useful to know what budget you have to get at least some profit.I'd suspect they already intend to produce an expansion. This thread is just to generate hype and excitement in anticipation of an announcement at the game convention online in late August.
Either that... or Paradox has a sadistic side and likes seeing us suffer while they deliberate the issue![]()
One of the things I would love is for you to assign armies to hunt rebels. It would be absolutely great if you could select an army, click a button for it to hunt rebels and then pick a circle or oval for that army to hunt rebels in. That alone would be a great feature that would let you do more game playing and less rebel chasing. I hate having to constantly pause and chase down rebels. I'm guessing it would be possible since similar sorts of things have been mentioned about how HOI3 air missions work, and they are both built on the same engine.
