<you mean something that erase unused history from the last 300 years? That'd be an idea...

I always wondered why the game saves such informations. They seam never used in game.

AFAIK, it's used for that after-game history breakdown of your nation, ex. "In 1489, we successfully defended against the second Ottoman-Wallachia War of aggression" or however that goes.

But overall, I think that after-game breakdown has never been of any use for me so I really wouldn't care if it was taken out.

Both diplomacy and military could use some work. Armies get too easy too big, which helps the blobbification. In the 80 years war and following period, an army of 20k was about the max a country could field due logistical limitations, one of the reasons why small countries managed to survive for so long, so attration should go up quite a lot (and maybe reduced a bit by land tech) and IMO a beaten army should also suffer quite a lot of extra attration when it flees away. Also a balance of power model would be very nice to counter blobbyfication too early.

I would like to offer very strong support for another EU3 expansion and promise of a near immediate preorder if you even announce its release and put it up for sale :)

I realize this may not be the best place, but, my wishlist...

- 1836 end date would be awesome, to take things up to vicky! (including possibly increased tech stuff, even "moderner" techs like railroads, ect)

- Increased modding ability and options, (including modifing good "units", so that things like plantations in colonies can be made to add to units produced)

- If possible, somehow changing the engine to only check existing TAG's, so that many countries that will only very, very occasionally appear can still be in game without hugely impacting performance.

Reduce random number generation... For example, time to convert would be awesome, instead of chance per year. And instead of sending colonist with chance, instead, less colonist chance -> Spends more colonists and costs more for 100%.

I hate RNG.

Oh, and for diplomacy, negotiations would be great. And some kind of defence pact witch would work like 2way-guarantee.

Isn't that 2 way guarantee just an alliance.

And I personally like the conversion system as it is, except, it takes waaay too long to convert them :p

Indeed, reliqious conversion is now far too easy. Generally you can convert all provinces you conquer in just few years per province.

I'd actually like if reliqious conversion happened like cultural one through events, with no direct involvement by the player. It could be modified by things like advisors, sliders, ruler adminstration and NI's, and wouldn't be anymore just an "send missionary and wait for it" process.

Johan posting a reply on page 18 gives me hope that the dev-team is still reading this thread.

One thing I didn't like about colonial nations or Crusader Kings-converted games is that ruler and advisor names are linked to specific nations instead of cultures. So a CK-converted german Croatia would still have the original croatian names and 'ambience'; a french-colonized Brazil would have portuguese names, etc.

Instead of the current system I suggest that names should be linked to cultural groups, with the various subcultures possibly having additional names only used by them. This would make the colonial independence system more 'historically plausible' and less 'historically rigid'.

The only improvements I would like to see would be a trigger for nations to change their flags at certain points in history when their historical flags changed, or at least give the player the option to change the flags if some players have a particular favourite flag for their nation.

Johan, is victoria 2 a plausible option in the (short/long term) future?

I would love nothing more than to take that as an indication Vicky2 is in the works, but its a very ambiguous comment, and can be interpreted to mean a lot of things.

FWIW, if Johan said that he would only OK Vicky 2 if everyone agreed to buy 2 copies, I still think most people would do it!

i always thought that a sequel of victoria was just an eternal subject in the land of speculation. this changes things big time, me thinks.
that answer states that vicky2 is actually something to be considered and an oportunity to recreate the interface and a set of alarm system to help people taking in-game strategical decissions that was why victoria scared casuals so much :)
anyway, "anyone thinking that victoria is too difficult to play leave the room. now" :D
