That was the plan in 1945 the Z Plan would have been finished, but due to German economics the economy probably wouldnt have lasted that long, even if it had good ol Stalin would have came knocking with the Red Army in 43 so it wouldnt have mattered much.

My opinion is Yes the Germans could have won, and only through hunderds of wonderful mistakes did they lose. Had they taken Malta and the Suez (more concentration on the N. African theater), got allied with Spain and/or Turkey, gone for the oil fields of Russia right away (or just not change directions every few monthes), done better at Dunkirk, not been so damn dumb as to declare war on the US, or wasted supplies/material on the surface fleet and concentrated on Uboats to strangle England they could have won, and the list goes on....

there have been so many books written on what nazis did wrong. Off the top of my head i think The Moscow Option and another book about just Hitler and how he screwed up the war. IE not allowing the panzers to leave Calais to attack Normandy. I think another was called Third Reich Victorious .

Of course I know - his series about Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky is really good. My personal best is "Trotsky". if someone on this forum is interested in early history of USSR - this trilogy is a must.

OK, I think we can finish this discussion - after all it has not much in common with topic of thread. Or maybe not? :D

Another book: Hitler's Panzers East (I think this is the right title). About the German decision to attack Russia, with detailed analysis on not attacking, and on how waiting until 1942 might have changed things. The general result is that Germany could have possibly forced a stalemate with Russia, but Russia's greater economic capacity would have led to more wars, eventually crushing Germany. This all assumes that the US remains out of the war, and that England and France do nothing.

I, Suvorov, hereby declare this discussion finished, since it has no real meaning in solving the problem posed in this thread.

I thank you for your participation and may God bless America (or any other nation for that matter :D )

Germany simply could not compete with the awesome might of the Allied Powers. Germany could also not rely on it's allies to help with the war effort. Whereas the Japanese had an awesome navy, they lacked in everything else. The Italians lacked in resilience, and the Baltic states made little headway.

On the Contrary, Britian and the Commonwealth could hold on their own, even managing to launch offensives. The U.S. and U.S.S.R both had an enourmus manpower pool and huge industrial bases. The Allies had Air and Naval superiority, which only further sealed the Reich's fate.

Simply put the Germans albeit they had Tech superiority could never manage to fight on numerous fights and sustain the casualties they later on sustained. Especially since most of their allies were grossly incompetent (besides the Finns).

In the end they were simply outproduced, outflanked and outgunned. Nevermind the complete ideotic tendencies of the Fuhrer and some of members of the O.K.

As Admiral Canaris once said, "All we need to do is follow orders and this war will soon be over".

Well, I will not claim that I know that much about military techynologies in the ww2 but isn`t it rather illogical considered that Germany had about the most modern weaponry at the beginning of the war? Soviets had hardly any research btw during the war but shortly thereafter they had already a nuke. If Soviets could do it, why couldn`t the Germans?

In the beginning of the war, French Armour surpasssed German by miles.. The Germans best tank was Czech in design.
