Do you invade johore every game?

Currently i do, its my very first move with a lot of nations. There's no reason not to, its just free money and its not like you can get to other important places as weaker nations like north korea for all that beautiful coal.

But it feels kinda.. gamey, like its basically a pile of absolutely defenseless gold that anyone can snap up in a random excursion to the far east

I think I invaded it in one game....and that was well into the game. Basically if it doesn't make sense from the perspective of the country I'm running, I don't do it.

Depends on the nation. As any of the GPs nope. Even most SPs. Anyone, else you should go for it. Pretty much no reason not to.

Whats the fun in that! Generally I only invade if m playing as the UK, France, maybe Holland or (if its still around by the time i westernise) Japan. At least then its semi historical but the idea of Greek marines establishing the colony of Johore is just sill imo.

I'd only do it if I play as the UK to get all of Malaysia..but I generally don't invade johore. Far more valuable possessions to conquor.

I only invade it if it feels natural for the nation I am playing. UK and Netherlands I would take it.

No. I invade Makkan every game. And yep it feels gamey...but I just can't help myself.

I can't remember ever invading Jahore. However I generally play the European nations or USA, and I very rarely get excited about gold (in the game).

I often don't invade it. You don't get much in the way of pops for your infamy. The RGO is nice of course, so if you're playing a country with money problems it can be worthwhile, but for a lot of countries I'd rather have a few more brigades.

Not in every game, but relatively often, I must admit. It has the perk that it's one of the easiest provinces to make a state of in Asia, due to the gold and the low local POPs, so actually once made a state I normally invade the Thai Johore for a decent sized province that I can industrialise easily.
