It is the last full stable build of game in 2.1. You can revert to it, keep playing your old saves, and the game that you liked better. Downside? Not much will change anymore and megacorp content wont work, probably.

...Problem solved.

Well, no sorry.

Whilst reverting to higher quality builds is a boon, it doesn't suddenly justify the nub of the matter; Paradox rushes content out at the expense of quality and incurs a growing technical debt. This behaviour of chasing revenue whilst burning goodwill is not consumer friendly at all.

But yes, Merry Christmas everyone, and developer team please tell the sales team to shove off.

Imagine this from any other product.

You bought a new car, and it barely starts, the brakes don't work, and it feels like at any minute it might explode, but that's fine because you can just go back and use your old car.

You can't really be dense enough to think this is a solution to megacorp being released in such a shambolic state.

Yeah, its not that bad.
I do wish they could release the game in a perfect state and not need so many patches.
I am not going to say the game is perfect. I am just pointing out, that if you are upset because if you dont like the changes, you can go back to the old game. It hasnt been "ruined" as some people seem to think.

There is an option where you go back to what you were happier with, maybe give Stellaris a few months to get its shit together, and switch back later.

In your analogy it would be like, you had a working car that got "stolen" and replaced with a car that has many issues and might explode at any minute. I am just spreading the good news that you can have your old working car back. At worst you spent 20 bucks on an expansion that isn't to your liking, give it a while to see if it gets better, go back to your old game while you wait.

It is not the end of the world.

Honestly I am not here to argue with you about the state of game and if the changes are good or bad.
This was just a public service announcement because I doubt that everyone was aware that you could go back to the old game.

Sorry the new game wasn't to your liking, switch back, wait to see if it improves, come back later?

Playing the previous version of Stellaris, at least for me, is impossible. Because I really like the new planet system and cant go back to the old tile system.

if this is a solution, I asume they are bugfixing on previous versions too instead of requiring you to be updated to latest version to gete access to all bug fixes?

if not, your solution isn't a solution but merely a bad excuse

Basically, such posts are enabling the culture of delivering poor quality products. I don't agree with that at all. There is no problem solved.

Please stop praising shoddy craftsmanship.

I would suggest just giving a pause for Stellaris until it is fixed. We don't have to do public beta tests.

My nephew wanted MegaCorp for Christmas. The fact that I've had to help him roll back to a previous version of the game, that doesn't let him enjoy his present, has not been the fun I'd hoped for him this morning.

I know, I know. World's smallest violin, boo hoo etc.

I don't understand the meaning of Paradox turning something that works into a enormous buggy mess, i like the new planetary system, very beautiful and makes me feel like if my planet is alive, but, why so much micro??? It's totally unnecessary in my opinion.
I tried to play the game 4 times and it simple doesn't work anymore for me, not the same game... I feel like if i'm on the office that i work, doing the shits for my boss... I can't play Stellaris for relax anymore. Because of this i just stopped playing it.

No. It was like that: you bought car from some company. It was good car. Then they gave you upgraded version of that car for free, without taking old one away.
Also, I believe not properly working brakes are bigger issue that not properly working video game.

Software isn't cars. Games aren't life-critical products. We can be unhappy with the state of the release and the high level of bugs without the histrionics and hyperbole. If it's that bothersome just go do something else.

Most of the previous versions aren't even in much better shape. The 2.1 AI was still pretty bad.

You just have to live with the fact that AI will never be the challenge people want it to be. Paradox will never spend the time and resources to get an AI that is this great. With the amount of changes that most Paradox games goes through over the years their AI can never become more than mediocre at best. This is the trade off for games that evolve in the way that paradox games do.

In terms of flavor, scale, production, economics, trade, and such, V2.2 is better in literally every capacity. I'll never go back to pre-V2.2 ever again. The single flaw is that the thing lags like heck if you don't set the settings to the lowest possible graphics.

I'm on a lower-end PC, so some lag is expected late-game, but men with better computers than me have trouble if they don't turn down the graphics.
