Well this is the nature of YouTube and youtubers. It’s about likes and followers. There would not be much point posting a video about Poland where you get bad RNG and make bad decisions and get ROLF stomped by the Ottos in the first twenty years. ( exactly what happened to me when I first tried to copy this video ).
He publishes the save games on his website so he makes them available. This is why I don’t think he cheats but maybe save scums.
I watch a lot of his videos as it gives me ideas for new games and how to play them. I got a great Brandenburg game out of it and he knows the mechanics and how to use them very well.
But I will agree he should probably be a bit more forthright in his videos about how likely it or difficult these strategies are to succeed.

I think it depends on the goal of the video. If it’s just for entertainment, then it shouldn’t matter. If it’s a guide for a specific tag, then it definitely matters. A guide with hidden cheats can be very frustrating for players who follow it. It can be very frustrating for newer players who don’t have a strong grasp of the mechanics.

there are ways to use console in iron man tbh. His skill made also a huge jump forward, he is now better than me ( I have 4000 hours most achvievments 90% or so), where before he was way worse. If florry did something like that it would be plausable, but he savcescumms, restarst until he has the result, he doesnt show how he made it, which makes it hard to believe him. For beginners I recommentd radio res, he has good guides to understand. For advanced players budget monk, especially his hre, poland, hungarian and byzantium runs. People also save scu, I do it too, when I get attacked because my alliances had 4000 in debts, or the 6 6 6 heir dies stuff like that not all the time but otherwise u can loose 40 Years of build up witch would just suck.

From what I've seen so far, restarting over and over again and save scumming is exactly what's "normal" for Ironman, so I don't see the issue.

And keep in mind, for most YouTuber gamers, the entire point is making money. For many, it is their sole income which can generate five figure incomes PER MONTH for the very successful. I know some (for EU, for other games) truly are trying to show strategies and tips, and I have watched many for the games I play. I watched the guy you all are discussing for my current France start. But, at the end of the day, they want people to subscribe, watch and comment because that is how YT determines their success, and therefore the paycheck. The real question to ask is “if YT ceased paying any money, would these videos be made.” For some, the answer is yes, for others I really doubt it. So, at the end of the day, it’s about entertainment. Not complaining, just making sure I have my mind correctly set as I watch, that I am not watching someone with purely altruistic motives.

I mean would it surprise you if I told you they made money off it and it's the difference between working for 40 hours and working for 4 hours for the same pay?
It's especially not surprising to me for Ludi in particular considering all the accusations of him plagiarizing other youtubers' (alzHD) videos to get his channel started.
If you want real guides on how to play tough starts I suggest Florryworry's Twitch. The man is a beast and he actually shows you what is possible in your current situation rather than an ideal one.

I followed some of his starts and they're clearly not unreasonable or unrealistic if you push the boundaries of AE/mercing up. Like, not at all. And just looking at the way he plays I realize he's playing more meticulously/skillfully than I did in some of my runs.
I see these videos less as guides to follow and more as inspiration for people that has above-average tier of gameplay already, and entertainment for the rest of us.

Same for me. His Austria video really opened my eyes. Many small things that add up greatly.
Not sure why it’s worth making threads about streamers you don’t like. A how-to tutorial should begin from a realistic, replicable starting point. I find any guide that requires continual restarts until 3+ factors break your way to be something that will be difficult to replicate, and thus less useful. If a streamer’s how-to video cannot be replicated, then they’re no longer really making how-to videos, and you should just stop using them for that purpose - find another streamer whose advice is more generally-applicable and doesn’t depend on one-in-a-thousand odds to be successful.

Thank you !!!!!!!!! Getting more and more irate reading this thread. The guy is clearly full of shit! He’s 100% not playing on iron man that coupled with his ridiculous luck and unbelievable rng he’s 100% cheating.
To the person who said rng sometimes works against him if it does its like the tiniest silliest thing that’s almost always immediately overcome-able. Never anything that properly de rails him.

Speak for yourself. I detest “entertaining” YouTube videos that are trying to convey any info at all. Much rather have some autist with a spreadsheet tell me what I need to know then watch actually funny content creators rather than pastiched crap being repeated - Ludi makes me cringe

- 1.31 added the "debug_achievements" command which activates the achievement icon in normal, non-ironman playthroughs making it look like you are playing Ironman while being able to use the console.
- Just after the introduction of this command Ludis "skill" made a huge jump upwards and he started playing "Ironman"

For me the most annoying EU4 youtuber has become the Social Streamers. They are mediocre at the game, mostly because they play at speed 5 and most of the attention goes to the AI having the most ridiculous games. I'm quite sure they don't even cheat with their own nation, but I'm quite certain they buff AI nation's to create interesting games.

This can happen, to a select few, in some extremely popular games such as Valorant or Overwatch.
It does not happen in EU4.
