Do resources change when you build an outpost?

I surveyed a system and the star had a resource of 3 physics.

A few months later, I put an outpost there and then noticed the physics resource is now 5.

Can someone tell me what is going on?

Probably you have some effects that increase the amount of research you're getting. If you go into the system view and mouse over the deposit, a tooltip will appear that should clarify the situation.
