I'm not sure if I have worded my question correctly.

I'm looking for a mod, probably, that makes certain services look like other things.

Things like a small elementary school just look... odd when placed around high res skyscrapers. Would be cool if one could take theskin of a generic high res building and use that for a school for example, to help it blend in.

No gameplay changes, just visual. Does that make sense?

i use the info booth opposite my concert hall as a "merch shoppie"
I use paving from parks dlc behind factorys
Colourful trees under ultra shallow water look like coral, green folidge looks like sea weed (ish)
U can use 2x1 brown path to make dirt road usable within a grid.
Ive not done it to my interchange on Frozen Falls yet, but tents (parks) under interchange reps homeless really well, may also use fire barrels/burnt vehical local
The ski lodge log buildings look great everywhere, near farms or small villages
I make extensive use of tree hugger comerse for all sorts of reasons, (smaller zoneing near transit hubs for 2x1 coffee shops)
Ive used paths down a channel through trees with bits and bobs to rep a ski slope, i then saw them on my milestones
I actually use petrol stations as petrol stations, i deliberatly zone them and in couple of places ive engineered it to look more plopped not zoned
The various fences do good things for viewers eyes,
I use "early" 2x2 generic offices near indy, make historical, late office looks too shiney (i want the 1970s look)
I use grey path to look like back roads behind apartments
I try to get rocks to poke through shallows and waterfalls to create more shapes in water, rippled/white
I use taxi ranks for tram stops extensively
Indy dlc warehouses uses are endless, the open ones i fill just for asphetics, rail yards with oil storage look great
I made a hole inside a loopy bit of terminal building (airport), i then had a ground level walk through path. Making it like an outside seating area (smoking area)

Edit. yep you worded it wrong, well to my eyes/head anyway
Stuff it, thats pretty much 90% of my detail armoury

To your actual issue, you edited it quicker than i typed that on my great On screen Keyboard
Try not putting the school "next to" the high rise, get some green space either side + fences + 2x2 / 1x1 offices and maybe a car park
Similar to how i would turn a 1x1 petrol station to look like a 3x3 plop
Turn the whole thing into a feature / complex, different building ages work here, as do indy roads

You need Block Services by Naylin from the Steam workshop. Plop a block "service", then cover it with any other building to serve as a school, fire station, etc.

It was used to great effect in MrMiyagi's Christmas Village/Kringlestadt (search on Youtube, available for download on the Workshop) where he used quaint European assets as service buildings.

I was thinking just place a service and then place another building over it. I have seen it done on YouTube before.

But "Block Services" as mentioned above by Michelle Bacon seems to be the perfect solution.
