I generally don't pay any attention to the the attractiveness of the portraits. in my current go 30% of my ruling house is Black after one son married an Ethiopian Stewarding genius and went on to have a lot of children who almost exclusively married their cousins. I've also had the arabic portrait in my family tree through marrying Levantine and Cuman whizzkids. I'd say 50% of my extended family in game are black or arabic, and we've been spreading those genes throughout european royalty as well. When the Golden Horde show up (the Ill-Khanate turned up a few years ago, and its circa 1230 in game so they should be here soon) I'll probably end up marrying some of them into the family being since the empire contain Poland and Lithuania we'll certainly have dealings with them.
