Beauty is a social construct, didn't you know?
Saying or implying otherwise is discrimination.

Are you sure about that?

In my actual game in Byzantine I've made a marriage with a daugther of one of Khans' daughter from Golden Horde. My daugthers looks normally, but my son really looks like his Mongol grandfathers ;)
More fun I had when I reloaded my muslim game after buying African portraits ;) My ruler had wives from Georgia, Abisynnia, Persia and Anatolia (Greek one) - trust me, when I saw my band of heirs and how they looked like... ;)

So I was playing earlier and my heir had finally come of age, there werent any high ranking brides so I decided to marry him to a young high stewardship genius, eventually I found a 17 year old genius with 29 stewardship... however I noticed from her portrait that she was a portly greek woman... the next best candidate was a 16 year old genius with 24 stewardship, who was german and had a "pretty" portrait.

I married my heir to the german. It wasnt till afterwards it hit me that I married the inferior wife (IN A VIDEO GAME) simply because she had a better looking portrait.

has anyone else caught themselves doing ridiculous things like this? :p

I was absolutely stoked (sorry, New Zealand slang term) when the AI did this for my grandson - even though the wife was stewardship 7 where to maintain my demesne at its current size she probably needed to be more than twice that :p

I had this dilemma yesterday. I needed Stewardship thanks to being 10/6 over my desmesne limit. The first choice was the princess of England, a fat, ugly dwarf with 17 stewardship. Or the princess of France who was as good looking as you find in this game but with 0 stewardship.

My desmesne can get over it. Its only a few robbers and thieves.

I seek out the mightiest and most hideous spouses that I can find.

"Steward! Scour the lands, and fetch me a stout husband, that we may breed!"

Beauty is relative my friends.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

Uh-oh, first my brain switched the first "g" and the "n" in that last word; I see it so often!
As for your goal, I suppose it isn't too hard if you don't mind marrying low-skilled courtiers every once in a while.

And hey, on an unrelated note, what's the deal with the entire Anglo-Saxon royal family marrying Basque women and men? After a generation or two, all the descendant of Harold Godwinson have black hair, brown eyes, and that ugly, half-open mouth. You'd think they'd marry closer to home.
