So I was playing earlier and my heir had finally come of age, there werent any high ranking brides so I decided to marry him to a young high stewardship genius, eventually I found a 17 year old genius with 29 stewardship... however I noticed from her portrait that she was a portly greek woman... the next best candidate was a 16 year old genius with 24 stewardship, who was german and had a "pretty" portrait.

I married my heir to the german. It wasnt till afterwards it hit me that I married the inferior wife (IN A VIDEO GAME) simply because she had a better looking portrait.

has anyone else caught themselves doing ridiculous things like this? :p

I marry my daughters to some men for good looks. I found a Norwegian king who was a DILF in his 50s but he was already married obviously.

It's partially for me, I usually marry to round up stats, but if she's a fatty then it aint happening (it's incredibly hard to breed it out again :s), anyways the exception is when she's landed somewhere i want to control, then it dosn't matter how she looks.

Yeah I do the same always marrying good looking girls, and if my kids marry ugly ones I kill their wife/husband and remarry them with good looking ones. (boredom is high)

PS: ofc if they make ugly kids before I notice it kid dies too!

I will break betrothals if they turn out fat, I don't care if they're heir to kingdom and they agree to marry normally. I will plot against fat wives my vassals invariably marry (that's so infuriating.) I try to marry red hair/blue eyed women with decent stats, but as the game progress eventually the only ones left are fat, slovenly and gluttonous nobles.

I seek out the mightiest and most hideous spouses that I can find.

The thing I get a good laugh at is when a girl with an ugly picture gets the trait 'attractive' or vise versa. Then I have to start worrying about Johan among my laughter.

Beauty is a social construct, didn't you know?
Saying or implying otherwise is discrimination.

I'm at least 100% certain that the King of Sweden should have more than 2 blonde women to choose from. At least 100%.
Most women you see walking around in Wisconsin (and Florida, in my case) aren't real blondes, but then again how many women in the U.S. are blonde? 5%? In Sweden it's something like 50%.
There are many types of blonde, I'm thinking you're not including all of them.

There are many types of blonde, I'm thinking you're not including all of them.

Well, let's see, in todays society we have the following types of blondes :

1) Brunettes who dye their hair blonde
2) Redheads who dye their hair blonde
3) Blondes who choose to dye their hair a different color to avoid the stereotypes associated with them
4) Real blondes ( this includes strawberry-blonde, sandy-blonde, etc etc )

Basically if the drapes don't match the carpet they aren't blonde. Failing that, ask them to make you some chocolate chip cookies. If they start peeling the M & M's, sure sign they are really blonde. :)

I'm inclined to believe that most women who are so delusional as to their appearance that they would dye their hair, also have hardwood or tile instead of carpet.
