I had assumed yes: evidently I'm wrong.

I was a little leery about positioning the Hadron Collider, which is supposed to make it possible to demolish all your other schools and universities.

The reason I was leery is that I assumed a humungous TRAFFIC JAM would ensue wherever I placed the Hadron Collider, because kids have to go to school there now, right?

But this didn't happen.

Then I began to notice that there weren't traffic jams in the vicinity of normal schools.

So . . . ?

Why should we be forced to create school bus routes? We're not all Americans. When I went to a high school that was sufficiently far away I just caught public transport like everybody else.

I too caught regular public transport to school, I don't see the issue?

There's also nothing stopping you from creating bus routes from residential areas and terminating them at schools. You can even make the buses yellow if you wish

No, they don't.

A small fraction, way less than 50%, walk to school. It has to be nearby. The rest of the elementary school level kids teleport, just like how the majority of your Cims "commute". I hope we can one day disable this. It's among the worst things in C:SL so far.

I'm polish and we had school bus, but I think it's like this only in villages and smaller cities

Yeah, school buses aren't a global thing. Obviously schools tend to be connected to public transportation, and usually you can expect students to have cheap access, but specific "school buses" certainly aren't done everywhere ...

They don't teleport, their travel is simulated and hidden.

Well, for kids high school in America that's the case too; at least in cities with public transportation systems. In NYC only grades K-6 are eligible for school buses and only if they live at a sufficient distance from the school. Suburban and rural areas without public transport are different and in most cases parents drive them to school.

obviously know nothing about America. Most k-6 walk to school or parents take them unless they live far enough away to warrant the bus system. 7-12 usually are in middle and high schools and warrant a bus system. When I lived in Germany was much tehe same way for the German towns to. Smaller towns got together build middle and high schools and had their own elementary schools. Plenty of towns in my state dont even have a bus system unless to high school.

back on topic be nice to put bus stops for kids though. Maybe even set rules up so they have to walk if within certain distance or be nice and let everyone ride the bus.

it would be cool if they introduced a modular nature to civic buildings so for example we could add a little bus port and have school buses if we wanted to... or not. Kinda how simcity 2013 did it.

I realize if your not American you probably didn't take a bus to school, but I would guess Americans are a great portion of their sales, and most of us did take a bus to school. I guess it might be sort of niche, but the whole modular idea wouldn't be.

Where I live in the UK we have school buses (not yellow though ;) ). But not sure I would want to do this, the amount of schools you have to build I would hate to make bus lines for each one. Would rather just use normal buses, unless there was a way you could modular update schools to add capacity. I always did like that aspect from simcity 2013.
