In my current Portugal game (Art of War), I had a colony in Arguin on the coast of Africa at about 850 colonists. I had an army stationed there but I had turned maintenance down a bit. So the native uprising fired and they destroyed the army and reduced the population down to about 550. OK, so I'll raise maintenance, put troops on a boat and exterminate all the natives. But the next day in game, I got three message popups saying the natives rose in Arguin and the colony was destroyed.
Do native uprisings happen several times at once, or does one native uprising keep repeating when there aren't troops and destroy a colony? Or is it that a native uprising happens once and just spams messages, and reduces the population randomly each time? Also is there cool down timer between it firing once and then again?
I'd just like to understand this mechanic, given I'm pretty noobish at the moment and playing the colonisation game.
