I've never tried using mods in CK2, EU4 or Stellaris multiplayer so I have no idea. It would be nice if they are available in multiplayer.

from my personal experience with other PI games, YES, in theorie. some mods will make the mp game run liek shit and you encounter strange bugs, if the game works at all.

Since you asked in reference to the German issue, I really don't feel comfortable going into detail.

FYI, Germany cannot censor Steam Workshop across the globe... for those of you who want certain mods to make things a little more 'historical', doubtless they will be up on Steam Workshop pretty quickly -- but my guess is you won't be able to link to them on this forum, and we shouldn't discuss them here now (so please don't).

But I just wanted to point out that, whatever your view on the situation, there will almost certainly be ways around the censored version; these games are very simple to mod graphically.

why shouldnt you be able to link it? the forum is outside of yerman jurisdiction. the only possible problem could be a decut mod by a yerman, or a link by a yerman.

AFAIK, Paradox do not like you linking to mods that use Swastikas, which presumably a lot of 'historical' mods will use (f.e. on the German flag, edited leader portraits, etc.)

I wonder if they will add a way to download the required mods from the lobby.
Say your friend starts up a game and has a few mods you don't have. You go to join and it tells you that you need X mod. Then asks if you want to download it. Downloads it and you join the game

The linking of the mods or the mods themselves cotaining those items?

Neither of those. The forum rules are very clear about this.

NOTE: There will not be any swastikas in the game. It IS illegal to show them in Germany and various other countries. Same goes for other Nazi symbols (e.g. related to the SS) or Nazi propaganda material, including songs etc. Any links posted to a mod which includes a Swastika or other illegal Nazi symbols will be deleted. Any threads that complain about this issue will be closed.
