Say I have two planets, one with 1 energy and one with 15 energy from an event (vultaum). If I build habitats on both, would I get the same amount from each, IE wasting 14 energy per month from the event deposit? Or is it added to the habitat's total energy income as a passive energy production?

Basic resource deposits (energy/mineral/science) do not give any bonuses to the habitat. They just add the corresponding district.

Strategic resource deposits create a deposit in the station that gives you the resource even if you don't have the tech (zro, living metal, motes/gas/crystals), while the mote/gas/crystal deposits also enable you to build that many number of buildings. Since those buildings produce base 2 of the resource, it's usually a multiplication of resources.

Raw material districts are generally not worth it. Gravity world focus have a 25%, while habitats have a 15%. Habitats are generally better for industrial sites, leaving resources to the worlds.

habitats work well for ring start, but basically avoid bonus resource deposits unless they're strategic, k thanks. i wish you'd get the base number as a bonus.

Ringworld starts for Organics should either but Merchant Federation rushes, or authoritarian war rushes using the strength of the scrap miner job, which are more pop efficient for alloys than normal homeworld industrial districts. Habitats come far too late to be truly relevant.

That part is incorrect. The deposit that straight-up gives you the resource only exists for zro and living metal (the other three only add the ability to construct the associated building), and the deposits do require you to have the tech to make use of them. Otherwise, the deposit will be there, but won't produce anything until you have the technology.

Yeah, only deposits that don't have a building don't require one.

You are correct, and my apologies for conflating the deposits that give resources vs the deposits that give the buildings.
