just kidding... :D I was planning to do feudal spirutalist campaign and wanted to know if feudal working properly because I got many memories of vassals refusing to expand very good systems since 2.0... is this a thing or am I just unlucky or is it fixed?

They expand. Sometimes, it takes a while, but they start to expand.

Tip: Release your vassal with a starbase and a shipyard.

Vassals you release takes a while to build the needed science and construction ships because often the colonies are released without alloy buildings. So they need to first build up their pop until they have a free slot, then they can build the alloy building to upgrade their starbase and build a shipyard.

If you want effective vassals, release them with buildings for alloy and consumer goods and make sure they have a starbase with a shipyard ready.

My last game was actually a feudal empire and my two subjects(both enlightened primtives) started expanding fairly quickly. I did build them a shipyard though.

well as I know megacorp vassals can build new starports etc...
I relased them with balanced economy and then send them some of everything.
they... didnt expand for 300 years because they never crafted a construction or science ship
instead they upgraded their capital starport to max lvl
